We consider this incident was a death bell to a democracy and insisted that all political parties should have their right to carryout propaganda freely in a democratic country.
The international community is closely watching the situations in Sri Lanka and incident of this nature will not help the country to rise up after the war is over. Rightful exercise of democratic rights of the citizen should be upheld by the Government. The Government should be able to identify and prosecute the culprits. The TNA meeting was attended by Mavai Senathiraja MP and the security personnel of the MP should be able to identify the attackers. An identification parade will help achieve this objective.
