Sri Ranga MP acts to help those affected by the recent fire at Thilikutti estate, Nuwara Eliya

Sri Ranga MP dispatched his personnel secretary Mr. R. Sasikumar and his coordinating secretary Ms. Dayani Kulatunga to Thilikutti estate of Lindula area in Nuwara Eliya to inquire into the on-going needs of the people sheltered in the temporary accommodations after fire destroyed their houses. During the visit, they promised that via Sri Ranga MP this matter would be be brought to the attention of the relevant officials to seek compensations.
The fire erupted in the Thilikutti estate in Lindula on 24th September 2011 afternoon. The Lindula Police said the fire might have started due to an electrical short circuit.  However, the fire was doused with the mediation of the people of the area. 
Nearly 55 persons affected by the incident have been found shelter in a nearby Thilikutti Tamil Maha Vidyalayam school and later moved to the Estate’s Hospital building. These people were provided with foods by certain individuals and NGOs which is appreciated.
